Annual CFA Society Cyprus Forecasting Event – Staying ahead of the curve, June 11th, 2026 
CFA Society Cyprus held its Annual Forecasting Event at The Landmark Nicosia, under the theme “Staying Ahead of the Curve: Fundamentals and Discipline in Volatile Markets”. The event brought together senior executives from banks and investment firms across Cyprus and abroad, with insights from leading international institutions including HSBC, Goldman Sachs and Julius Baer on today’s global markets and investment landscape. Society President Constantinos Kourouyiannis, CFA and CySEC Chairman Dr. Georgios Theocharides addressed the audience, touching on disciplined investing, the role of artificial intelligence in the profession and the future of the European capital markets. After Work Casual Drinks Event, March 4th, 2026
CFA Society Cyprus held an After Work Casual Drinks event at JK One Resto Bar, bringing together a fantastic turnout from the community and creating a vibrant and engaging evening. The relaxed setting offered Members and CFA Program Level III Candidates the opportunity to connect, exchange experiences, and engage in meaningful conversations, while many Members also took the time to share insights from their professional journeys and offer guidance and encouragement to Candidates. These interactions reflect the spirit of the CFA Society Cyprus community—supporting the next generation of investment professionals, strengthening the professional network, and fostering mentorship and collaboration. The event brought together both familiar and new faces, providing a welcoming environment for building connections and exchanging ideas.
CFA Institute Local Research Challenge Final, February 9th, 2026
CFA Society Cyprus proudly hosted the Cyprus Local Final of the CFA Institute Research Challenge, which recorded a record number of participating universities this year, highlighting the growing interest among students in investment research and the CFA Program. The competition brought together university teams to present their equity research, valuation analysis, and investment recommendations before a panel of industry judges, showcasing a high level of analytical depth, professionalism, and preparation. Participating universities included American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo, European University Cyprus, UCLan Cyprus, the University of Cyprus, and the University of Nicosia.
The University of Cyprus was named this year’s Local Champion, standing out in a field of highly competitive teams and demonstrating outstanding research and presentation skills.

Award Ceremony & Christmas Dinner
The New Charterholder Award Ceremony took place on December 11th, 2025, at Ktima Kousioumi, recognizing the achievements of the Society’s newest CFA Charterholders. The event celebrated their dedication and commitment to professional excellence, with strong attendance reflecting the engagement and unity of the community. The evening was supported by TFI Markets and CeriFi as Gold Sponsors, with QFin sponsoring the welcome drinks.
CFA Institute Local Research Challenge Kick-off Event
 
The CFA Institute Local Research Challenge Kick-off Event took place on October 23rd, 2026, bringing together students, faculty advisors, sponsors, and CFA Society Cyprus members for an informative and engaging start to this year’s competition. Attendees received an overview of the challenge and timeline, were introduced to the subject company, learned about internship opportunities, and connected with industry professionals in a professional and collaborative setting.
After Summer Event 
The After Summer Event took place on September 11th, 2025, at Lush Beach Bar, bringing members together for an enjoyable evening of networking and social engagement. The event was well attended and provided an excellent opportunity for both long-standing and new members to connect in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
 
Annual CFA Forecasting Event “Navigating Markets Amid Geopolitics, AI and Policy Transformation”
 
CFA Society Cyprus successfully hosted its Annual Forecasting Event at Hilton Nicosia on June 5th, 2025. This years insights featured presentations on key capital market trends, geopolitics, AI disruptions, trade policies and trust and wealth structuring.  Following the presentations was a networking dinner in the gardens of the Hotel. 
 
CFA x UPADEL – Where Finance Meets Sport
 
CFA Society Cyprus successfully hosted the CFA x UPADEL – Where Finance Meets Sport event on May 17, 2025, at UPADEL in Nicosia. The event brought together finance professionals, members, and families for an engaging afternoon of padel, networking, and fun. Highlights included a spirited tournament, vibrant social gathering with BBQ, drinks, and live DJ, as well as padel coaching sessions for children. Thank you to all who joined us and contributed to a fantastic atmosphere!

 

CELEBRATING THE VOLUNTEERS BEHIND CFA SOCIETY CYPRUS
 
On March 31st, 2025, CFA Society Cyprus hosted an engaging evening of drinks, flavorful bites and inspiring conversations – a gesture of appreciation for the dedicated volunteers who help shape the Society’s success.
 
These volunteers, with their time, expertise and commitment, are the driving force behind the Society’s initiatives, events and community growth.
 
LOCAL CFA INSTITUTE RESEARCH CHALLENGE FINAL
 
University of Nicosia was crowned the winners of this years’ local CFA Institute Research Challenge at Deloitte HQ, February 19th, 2025.
 
WINE TASTING & BRUNCH 
 
On January 16th, 2025, CFA Society Cyprus Members were treated to an exclusive wine tasting and brunch at Ktime Gerolemou, Omodos.  
 
FINANCIAL COMPLIANCE AWARENESS SEMINAR 
 
CFA Society Cyprus co-hosted with the Cyprus Compliance Association a very insightful seminar on January 28th, 2025 at the European University of Cyprus with great success. 
The seminar covered the following topics: Code of Ethics & Professional Standards, MiFID III, DORA, ESG, SFDR and AIFMD II Regulations.
AWARD CEREMONY / CHRISTMAS PARTY
 
On December 19th, 2024, CFA Society Cyprus hosted its Award Ceremony and Christmas Party at the Ivory Bar Restaurant, Nicosia.  The evening celebrated new Charterholders and the festive season in style. 
 
LOCAL CFA INSTITUTE RESEARCH CHALLENGE KICK-OFF EVENT
 
October 23rd, 2024 launched this year’s local Research Challenge with 4 teams from 4 Universities participating.

MUFG JOINT EVENT
 
On Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, CFA Society Cyprus and MUFG Investor Services held a joint event at the MUFG Investor Services offices’ rooftop in Limassol.  The purpose of this event was to introduce the local Society to MUFG Investor Services and vice versa. 
 
The evening included:
* Registration and networking with refreshments and nibbles
* A brief introduction of MUFG and CFA Society Cyprus
* A brief presentation on the CFA Program and available CFA Institute certificates by a CFA Institute representative
* A presentation from MUFG Investor Services to introduce the Company
* Additional networking

CFA SOCIETY CYPRUS ANNUAL FORECASTING EVENT

 
The biggest event of CFA Society Cyprus, the Annual CFA Forecasting Event took place May 24th, 2024 with great success!
 
The CFA Forecasting Event was attended by esteemed business leaders, government officials, industry experts and the academic community, from Cyprus and abroad, making it an excellent occasion to listen to and exchange views, as well as network with like-minded individuals. The Event was solely sponsored by the Bank of Cyprus.
 
The program of the Event was as follows:
17:30-18:15 – Arrival, registration and networking at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre foyer.
18:15-19:20 – Forecasting Presentations in the Auditorium of the theatre, with speakers from J.P. Morgan, the Government, Bank of Cyprus, CFA Charterholders and others.
19:20-20:00 – Networking in the theatre foyer.
20:00-late – Dinner at the adjacent Garden Day & Night restaurant.

PRIVATE EQUITY 1-DAY BOOTCAMP

 
CFA Society Cyprus  partnered with Mink Learning to offer a one-of-a-kind, in-person 1-day Private Equity Bootcamp especially designed for Investors and Finance professionals for a limited number of 20 participants.  The bootcamp took place on March 21st, 2024, and was designed to focus on the knowledge and skills needed to invest in Private Equity and to advise clients on Private Equity Investments.
 
Learning objectives included key aspects of the Private Equity Investment Process, Deal Sourcing and Due Diligence, Value Creation and Exit Strategies.
 
Presenting the bootcamp was Steve Balaban, CFA, Chief Investment Officer at Mink Capital, an award-winning lecturer at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada (Private Equity and Wealth Management courses) and a Private Equity Matter Expert for the CFA Institute as a Contributing Author for the CFA Level I and Level III curriculum.
 
KENDRIS (Cyprus) kindly provided the venue, refreshments and food for the bootcamp.

CFA INSTITUTE LOCAL RESEARCH CHALLENGE

 
CFA Institute Local Research Challenge Final took place on 23rd of February 2024, at Deloitte Headquarters in Nicosia.
 
The Research Challenge is a special event for the students who undertake a unique challenge in analysing and preparing an equity report for a traded company specializing in the energy sector, which is presented during the Local Final in front of a panel of CFA Charterholders, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session per team.
 
The competing Universities for this year were University of Cyprus, European University and University of Technology (TEPAK). 
 
The winning team of the competition, University of Technology (TEPAK)  participated in the Sub-Regional Competition and Regional Societies Competition, which took place physically in Dubai on the 19th of April 2024, placing 4th overall. 
 
The expenses of the students were covered by the CFA Society Cyprus, with many thanks to Deloitte (Platinum Sponsor), PwC Cyprus (Gold Sponsor), EY Cyprus (Gold Sponsor), XM (Gold Sponsor), Bank of Cyprus (Gold Sponsor), Eurobank (Gold Sponsor), Resolute Asset Management (Internship Sponsor) and Grant Thornton (Internship Sponsor).

CFA SOCIETY CYPRUS AWARD CEREMONY

 
CFA Society Cyprus welcomed 28 new Charterholders to the local CFA community during the Award Ceremony on February 2nd, 2024 at the POED Building in Nicosia, celebrating the hard work and dedication of the new Charterholders in achieving their prestigious CFA designation.
 
CFA Society Cyprus President welcomed the new Charterholders, followed by a welcome video from CFA Institute President Margaret Franklin, CFA. CFA Society Cyprus Members and industry professionals welcomed the new Charterholders during a cocktail reception and food, following the award presentations.

NETWORKING EVENT 07/12/2023

 
CFA Society Cyprus hosted a casual networking event that brought together Society members, supporters, and successful Level III candidates. The event provided a relaxed setting for attendees to connect, share experiences, and celebrate their achievements over drinks and a dinner buffet. It was a wonderful opportunity for the local CFA community to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas, and enjoy an evening of camaraderie.
